And most importantly raised \u00a3645 for Uganda Cancer Trust UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ugandacancer.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Edward-Training-042a-254x300.jpg\" alt=\"Edward training\" class=\"wp-image-257\" width=\"254\" height=\"300\"\/><figcaption>Edward Mukasa training for the 2015 Uganda International Marathon<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Andy Bownds of the organising team for the marathon says:\nThe event as a whole was even\n better than we&nbsp;originally thought. We had 1,000 people take part,&nbsp;100 \nof which were international runners. The&nbsp;Uganda Marathon is already the \nsecond largest&nbsp;fundraising event in the whole of Uganda raising&nbsp;funds \nfor organisations throughout Uganda and&nbsp;across the world.\n\nAll this has meant it didn\u2019t \ntake us long to&nbsp;agree that we are definitely are putting the&nbsp;event on \nnext year.
